Jeremy Strueder

Jeremy Strueder

Jeremy Strueder is a fourth-year graduate student in the cognition area. He received his M.A. in Psychology (2023) and B.B.A. in Marketing (2020) from the University of Iowa. His research focuses on understanding how people make judgments and decisions in uncertain environments. In particular, he is interested in using behavioral and computational methods to explore the cognitive processes underlying advice-taking, risk perception, and motivated reasoning. In his free time, he likes to watch movies and play tennis. He also loves to eat and enjoys trying new foods from different cultures.

Piper Clark

Piper Clark

Piper Clark is a first-year graduate student in the cognition area. She received her B.S. in Psychology in December of 2023 from The Ohio State University. Her research focus is how judgments and biases are formed and influence decision making; especially, in circumstances that involve risk or ambiguity. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music on her record player, caring for her house plants, and reading.

Ashlyn Headlee

Ashlyn Headlee     

Ashlyn is a senior who will graduate with a Psychology major and Human Relations minor, on the Pre-law track. She is interested in cognitive psychology related to why people may break the law, so we can lower recidivism rates and foster rehabilitation. She is also a TA for elementary psychology for Julie Gros-Louis, involved in Psi Chi, and has recently started a club called the Pre-Law Association of Women (PAW). In her free time, she likes playing with her cats or watching movies.

Tommy is a senior pursuing a B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy, with a minor in Music. He is interested in both social and clinical psychology and is hoping to attend graduate school to explore these areas in greater depth. Outside of school, Tommy enjoys video games, playing the piano, music of various genres, and spending time with his dog, Eden (pictured).

 

 

Carolyn McCann

Carolyn McCann

Carolyn is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Psychology with a minor in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies. Her research interests are in Developmental Psychology and Social Cognitive Psychology. When she graduates, she hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in Developmental or Social Psychology. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, writing and listening to music.

 

 

Lillian McVay

Lillian McVay

Lillian is majoring in Psychology (BS) with a minor in Human Relations and Sport Media and Culture. She is particularly interested in cognitive psychology, especially how people make decisions in social situations. She also has a special interests in PTSD in Veterans, and Sports Psychology. Outside of school, she keeps busy as a desk clerk at Rienow Front Desk, serving as the President of the UIOWA Run Club, being a proud member of Delta Gamma, and volunteering at the Veterans Affairs Office. In her free time, she loves running, going to concerts, creating digital media, hunting for the best nachos, shopping, spending time with God, watching and reviewing movies, and chatting on the phone.

Linh Nguyen

Linh is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Psychology, a minor in Human Relations with a certificate in Resilience and Trauma-Informed Perspectives. She is interested in clinical and cognitive psychology. Linh aspires to continue her education in graduate school in these fields or enroll in the CMHC M.A. program. Beyond academic settings, she enjoys baking and taking care of her plants. 

 

 

Divija Sharma

Divija Sharma 

Divija is a senior student majoring in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy. Her research interests include social cognition, biases, and decision-making. Apart from sincere curiosity, these are largely motivated by her experiences as an international student leader. Outside of lab, she enjoys reading about mythology, listening to classical music and making watercolour paintings.

Nikhita is a senior studying psychology. Her research interests include cognitive and behavioral neuroscience and forensic psychology. She hopes to go to graduate school for clinical neuroscience and afterwards hopes to go to medical school. Outside of research, she is a huge motorsports fan and loves marvel.

Jill is a senior student pursuing her BA in psychology and a certificate in disability studies. Jill’s interests include social, clinical, and cognitive psychology, such as making decisions in high-pressure situations and the correlation between trauma and social decline. Outside of school, Jill’s interests include reading, playing with her cat, and drinking orange juice. After her undergrad, Jill plans to pursue an MA in clinical psychology or clinical mental health counseling.

 

 

Claire Winjum

Claire Winjum

Claire is a senior majoring in psychology and double minoring in philosophy and human relations. Outside of school, Claire works as a Brain Injury Specialist at Community Neurorehab and is VP of the Psychology National Honors Society, Psi Chi. After graduation, Claire plans to pursue a MA in clinical mental health counseling. In her free time, Claire enjoys working out, playing the ukelele, and reading!
